For me buying car was most suitable option as this provides me more flexibility, ola/Uber going crazy these days and I can use my car where ola/Uber don't have presence i.e. small towns
What if I'm thinking of a second hand car for practice and travel on the highway say 90km one way, how would I calculate what's cheaper for me.? Additionally I have huge parking space issues and i have heavy expenditure for cabs which is 1700 one way.
Cost of driver is missing...if you love driving, above holds good.
Thanks for the post 👍

Absolutely. There's much more to it than just the numbers, and flexibility is an important factor! :)
Amazing article! I was working on a model of cost efficiency in owning a vehicle. The following are additional overheads I calculate:
1. Speeding tickets (city + inter state)
2. No parking fine & parking charges
3. Parking spot monthly charges + weekly cash washes
4. No depreciation on asset for salaried folks
However, in my opinion, the discerning factor is to identify whether the car is categorized as ostentatious or utility.
Great points Zoya. Thanks for adding! 😁

You can just change the amount in the excel sheet for the second hand car (assuming you're buying it on loan).
Also, all the fields are editable, so you can make changes accordingly. The excel will give you the answer :)
It was an unsupported file type. I tried opening it
It's actually a zip file. Probably won't open on the phone. You can try on the laptop.
